Peugeot 108 - the most efficent small petrol car

What car name the most efficient small petrol cars in their new test.

The good thing is these results indicate real-world fuel economy, not the laboratory test results quoted by everyone.

This is how the 108 compares: Peugeot 108 1.0 VVT-i - official mpg 68.9 True MPG 54.6mpg

I'm really pleased our little 108s scored so well.

Have you seen how bad some of them are though!

The fiesta with the 'award winning' ecoboost engine has official 65.7mpg but the True MPG is 46.2mpg!

I'm guessing the quality of petrol would also have an effect on fuel consumption? Not just how efficient the engine is?

Cheers!

The Fiesta is a big, heavy Supermini. Some of the manufacturer road tests are not very realistic: a marshmallow in the glove compartment, a balloon on the back seat, a feather in the boot.
