PSA Investing In Argentina Plant To Build New Cars

SA Peugeot Citroen are getting ready to expand their operations in Argentina with a significant investment.

According to the local publication iEcoClarin, the French group will inject $320 million between 2017 and 2019 at the El Palomar facility.

"For the past year, we have been refurbishing the El Palomar plant to make it more efficient. And now, a second stage will begin, in which the investment that we have just announced will be practically announced to the President", Carlos Gomes, the head of PSA for Latin America, said.

Gomes declined to comment on which models will be produced in El Palomar : "I would not want the competition to know right now", he commented.

I'm surprised that there are still people who are thinking of manufacturing outside of the US borders, but oh wait! The only ones who are actually restricted by that ridiculous rule are the Americans. Good luck to them if they are trapped in that hole and hopefully they can manage their finances well enough to ride out his insanity at the seat of power...

It's ok for now because they don't import into America. We'll see what happens now with Opel but I suspect they might use that brand to break into the US.
