Unhappy starting problems

Hi

I am a newbie on here, so 'Hello'. I have had my new 108 (automatic) since Dec 15. I prefer it to my previous 107, it has more ooomph (technical term).

However, occasionally it fails to start. Has anyone else had this problem? I am getting so paranoid about it, that I make sure the radio is off etc. Today on leaving work, it took about 4 attempts to start it, which is very embarrassing with a new car! Other times, it starts straight away.

Is it me? It's like the battery is flat. Any ideas?

Hi and welcome,

To the best of my knowledge, no new car is meant to swing and switch off.

There is possibly a problem with one of the engine sensors which is restricting start-up for safety reasons.

Take it to the dealer immediately!

All the best.

Hi I was interested in your query I have a new 108 and my isn't starting properly all the time. Can you tell me what is happening with yours and have you got it sorted?

I realise your post is quite old now but I've been having this problem with my 108 intermittently since it was new. The dealer tells me there's nothing wrong with it. Its like there is some sort of problem with the start button, sometimes it won't turn off acc mode and bleeps when I open the door and others times, like today it refuses to start or even just turn the engine over to attempt to start. Just makes quiet little noises.
I wondered if you got your sorted, and if so how

Thanks Jules
