Does anyone use a dash cam? Got any recommendations? I'm also wondering about hard wiring it into the car and having it neatly installed. I think this will look better than having wires all over the windscreen.

I have one, a cheap ebay thing that cost me £33. Works really well. Downside to it is that because it starts recording when the USB or 12v gets power it'll come on with the first click (key) or quick press (start/stop) then when you finally start the engine it'll turn off.
If you gun the engine right away it'll just stay on but for 33 quid.

Check this guy out on Youtube, has tones of videos about action/dash cams

£33 is a bargain, what's the picture quality like?

Pretty dam good, 1080p, perfect for any insurance issues. Sharp picture corner to corner. Colours are a little off but it's a dash cam not a gopro.
Having said that the quality is very usable should you capture a meteorite.

A down side is that most dash cams are not very discreet.

Nice thanks, I am tempted by one. Like you say making it almost factory fit and inbuilt somewhere would be really good, might be a nice project for me in the spring. :)
