So who pays for parking and speeding tickets, or will they become a thing of the past?

Its all well and good following a set route but what happens when the car hits ice? Or a kid runs out? Or the road opens into a large pot hole.

I just don't think technology is anywhere near close to having this out in the real world.

I agree. Even with more advance technology driving in this world is too unpredictable and because the human hands are not fixed in situations such as icy road or kids playing the on the roads an electronic car would not no how to react. But that's just my personal belief towards it.
