Peugeot is the latest automaker to unveil its Vision GT concept.
French automaker Peugeot’s entry to the Vision Gran Turismo series fits right in with previously released Vision Gran Turismo concepts, sporting a 1:1 power-to-weight ratio at 875 kg and 875 bhp. In the virtual world, that equates to a 0-62 time of just 1.73 seconds, promising a unique driving experience for gamers.
To celebrate the Gran Turismo franchise’s 15th anniversary, creator Kazunori Yamauchi challenged automakers to create unique, visionary concepts that pushes the envelope on design and engineering. Since then, over 15 cars have been created for Gran Turismo 6, with many of them being borderline crazy, like the Chevrolet Chaparral.
Peugeot teamed up with Peugeot Sport to create the supercar, which stands just 41 inches tall and is noticeably missing any aerodynamic features. That’s because according to Peugeot, “the body design alone is enough to effectively stick the car to the road.” The Vision Gran Turismo concept is powered by a 3.2-liter turbocharged V6 engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission and an all-wheel drive system. Up front are massive 22-inch wheels and tires while the rear steps it up to 23-inch counterparts.
Gran Turismo 6 players will be able to take the Peugeot Vision Gran Turismo for a spin in the near future and will be available as a free update to the game on the PlayStation 3.
